About

Welcome to Beyond MarathonWhat is this site about?

Ultra runners were lacking a comprehensive source of information about worldwide ultra events, and we have changed that.

This site is certainly not just a ‘list’ of worlwide ultras. It contains facts, figures, route maps, and statistics which will help you decide which race is right for you. If you are new to the sport it is the perfect place to find information.  If you’re an ultra runner already, you’ll find the site is useful to find your next challenge. You can use our Worldwide ultramarathon calendar, or search facility to find events too.

Integrated into the site event is a Facebook page link.  Go and “Like” our page to ensure you are kept up to date.  Thank you to all the Race Directors for kind permission to feature their races, and for the use of their website materials.

If your race isn’t on the site, then drop us a line and ensure you don’t miss the place where everyone will be looking.

The Beyond Marathon Team are seasoned ultra distance runners and veterans of many deserts, mountain races, and mountain summits all over the World.  We have used this experience to create our own hugely popular events; Dusk ’til Dawn, and The 12 Labours of Hercules, Gristone Grind, with more events on the way in 2013 and 2014.

This  new look website, version 3, is a wide screen, and mobile phone optimised.  It was launched in February 2013.  This site follows on from the Google Map driven version 2, launched in January 2011, and the original version 1, Flash-based website created in 2009. Beyond Marathon is now in it’s 4th year of operation, growing and expanding.
