The Apocalypse 50 will follow the same format as the 2016 edition.
There are four apocalyptic loops, starting and finishing in Church Stretton at our central HQ location, which is also the main checkpoint for food. Each loop varies in distance from 9 to 14 miles. You can choose to complete one loop, two loops (a marathon), 3 x loops (around 37-40 miles), or take on all four to complete the entire 50 miles.
To really shake things up, you can complete the loops in any order you wish. When the gun starts you run in any one of four directions. The most exciting product of the random nature of the event, is that no one knows who is in the lead!
At registration, you will be given a participant passport. There are four pages; one for each loop. As you go out to complete each loop, you will pass between 3 and 6 self-clip locations on each loop. When you return the HQ, we will punch your passport to confirm you have completed the loop, and then it’s up to you to decide which loop to go for next.
You can choose to be tracked with Race Drone, so your friends and family can follow your progress on the event.
