We have 11 places available for a no-cost event! It will take place on Sunday April 14th. Places will be handed out on a first come first served basis. The event HQ is Losehill Hall in Castleton. You will register at 8am, and the event will start at 8:30am, after a briefing.
The purpose of the event is to allow us to get up to speed with, and play-test our new electronic chip timing system. The system, Sportident, will be used on some of our events later in 2013 and on all of our events from 2014 onwards.
We’ve given the little event a title; it’s “The Duke or York” (see if you can guess why). The event is 18.5 miles long and features 1217m of ascent and descent. Participants will need to bring their OL1 Dark Peak Map (GPS welcome too). There are 4 electronic chip control locations, each between 2 and 3 miles from the HQ. Participants will run out and tag a control, then return to HQ, before going out for the next one. Participants can choose any route they like. The most direct routes are shown on the map below, along with the elevation.
So the event will be free of charge, and we will setup a single feeding station at the HQ to feed and water you during and after the event. If you want to enter, just email us using the Contact Us link. Please only enter if you can 100% commit to the date!
